Knowledge Organization

Tonight I’m digging into knowledge organization!

I was actually trying to find some good titles on library theory when I stumbled across Professor Birger Hjørland’s article from 2000:

Hjørland, Birger. 2000. “Library and information science: practice, theory, and philosophical basis.”  Information Processing & Management 36 (3):501-531. doi: http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/S0306-4573(99)00038-2.

Which again led me to another of his articles:

Hjørland, Birger. 2015. “Theories  are  Knowledge  Organizing  Systems  (KOS).”  Knowledge  Organization 42 (2):119-128. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/281676363_Theories_are_Knowledge_Organizing_Systems_KOS

And onto Knowledge Organization…

I guess, having worked as a librarian for oh, so many years, some things you just take for granted. It’s almost like tacit knowledge. Such is the case with knowledge organizing.

What other sites did I visit today?
